Richard Wasserman is a nationally recognized diamond dealer and Private Jeweler located on Fifth Avenue in New York City. He received his BA from Ithaca College and Certification in Diamonds and Diamond Grading from The Gemological Institute of America in 1987. In his 29th year of business, Mr. Wasserman has served as an expert Witness in the New York State Criminal Court, and often speaks at industry Conclaves on Customer Service and Best Practices for the Jewelry Industry. In addition, he is a member of the Diamond Dealers Club of New York, The Polygon Trading Network and the Rappaport Trading Network.
Mr. Wasserman lives with his wife and four children in Short Hills, New Jersey.
In addition to his work as a trusted Manhattan jeweler, Mr. Wasserman has committed himself to supporting underprivileged children in New York and actively fundraises for the Vanderbilt YMCA, where he sits on the board of Managers. He is also a long term participant with Fresh Air Fund.
Mr. Wasserman is active and involved in his community of Millburn-Short Hills, New Jersey. In 2018, he was elected as a Democratic District Leader. And in November of 2019, he won election to the Millburn Town Council for a three year term. In his position on the Council, he served as: Liaison to the Board of Education, Member of the Finance Committee, and on the Board of Directors of the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum and Bird Sanctuary.
